In case you missed this, there is a wonderful exhibition featuring the work of two woven textile artists currently on at Hauser & Wirth in Somerset from September 28th - November 24th. Make: Opening Narratives is Make’s inaugural exhibition is a celebration of seven makers working with wood, ceramics, textiles and metal.
The exhibition reflects the new visibility and significance of making and the re-evaluation of the crafted object, whilst bringing together seven makers with work of exceptional creativity and substance. Weavers Hannah Robson and Maria Sigma feature, with stunning new work demonstrating their craftsmanship and skill in woven textiles.
Hannah Robson is a textile artist working with materials to create 3D objects. Her textiles blur the line between craft and design as she uses techniques such as lace-making to create form.
Maria Sigma has a strong ethos of working with natural materials as she has a 'Zero Waste' policy, 'considering the environmental impact at every stage of the design and making process, as well as within the daily work environment and studio space'.
Both textile designers have exhibited their work widely, don't miss out this latest exhibition.
