Each follows the same design and palette, with subtle variations in colour, texture and composition inherent in the handweaving process.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e‘Current’ is constructed entirely from textiles woven by hand on a frame loom. Three individual handwoven panels form the front and overlapping back of the cushion, each carefully matched before being stitched together entirely by hand. This method of construction allows the weaving itself to continue across every surface of the piece.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWool and mercerised cotton are combined using traditional and hand-manipulated weaving techniques. Colour is developed through Cassandra’s process of yarn\u003cimg\u003e blending, in which multiple shades are selected using colour theory and woven alongside one another rather than relying on a single flat colour. From a distance, the colours visually blend; viewed more closely, individual strands and subtle shifts in tone become visible. The lustre of the cotton against the richness of the wool adds further depth and variation to the woven surface.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe front and overlapping back each form a distinct part of the same composition, making ‘Current’ a distinctive expression of the materials, colour and handweaving that define the West Coast Collection.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDesigned, woven and hand-finished by Cassandra Sabo in Oxford.
