Brittany Collection: 'Pebbles' Lampshade

The 'Pebbles' lampshade, our latest addition to the Brittany collection which has been in development for almost 2 years, is finally here. This striking lampshade is a handwoven delight of light and texture. Using our signature style of thick wool roving, this unique pattern will add a touch of glamour to any space with its fluffy fringe, the first of its kind! When illuminated, a delicate light can be seen through the beautiful textures, whilst the wool fringe casts a delicate feathered pattern on nearby surfaces.

Each unique lampshade is carefully handwoven in our Oxford studio using only the finest materials. It begins with a handwoven base of clear monofilament to ensure transparency, weaving in a combination of wool and cotton to add depth and colour and hand manipulating the softest of merino wool roving to add drama in the form of our popular 'Pebbles' pattern with its delightful wool 'fringe'. Once woven, we assemble the lampshade in our Oxford studio and finish it with a hand stitching to our exacting standards.

Our 'Pebbles' lampshade is 100% handwoven in a slow but precise pattern evoking images of pebbles by the shoreline. Inspired by the ripples in the sand, patterns of seashells, colours at sunrise and the textures of seaweed along the Brittany coastline, each handwoven piece has its own unique colour, texture, pattern and finish which you can specify.

Each step in our process reflects our commitment to craftsmanship and time-honoured weaving traditions. We also believe in sourcing all our materials from within the UK to minimise our carbon footprint and use natural fibres whenever possible as we aim to cultivate a more sustainable practice.
